1. Transport upgrades
Circle Line loop (opened 12 July 2026)
The Circle Line Stage 6 extension adds Keppel, Cantonment and Prince Edward Road stations, closing the loop between HarbourFront and Marina Bay. From Lorong Chuan, that means a direct ride to the southern CBD and Greater Southern Waterfront without transferring. More on the Circle Line page.
Cross Island Line (early 2030s)
Phase 1 of the Cross Island Line (CRL) runs from Aviation Park to Bright Hill, with stations including Hougang, Serangoon North, Tavistock and Ang Mo Kio. This adds an east-west option for residents of the Serangoon and Ang Mo Kio fringe, including faster links towards Pasir Ris, Loyang and the Changi area.
2. Green and active mobility links
URA’s plans for the north-east emphasise new parks, park connectors and better pedestrian and cycling links. For Lorong Chuan this includes improving links through the precinct and building on the existing Chuan Lane Park and Kallang River park connector corridor to Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park.
3. Limited new supply
The Lorong Chuan enclave is surrounded by landed estates, parks and existing condos. After the two Chuan Grove parcels, few new residential sites remain nearby. Limited supply generally supports resale values for existing homes.
4. The wider north-east
- Serangoon Central and NEX remain the main commercial hub
- Paya Lebar Air Base relocation (from the 2030s) is expected to lift height limits and bring new housing and jobs to the north-east over the long term
- Punggol Digital District and Seletar Aerospace Park add jobs within reach on the North East Line
