Singapore Citizen singles generally have to wait until 35 to buy an HDB flat under the singles scheme. Private condos have no age requirement beyond 21, which makes a new launch like One Chuan Grove a real option for younger singles.

2-bedroom or 2+Study?
One Chuan Grove’s smallest units are likely to be 2-bedroom, which suits singles well:
- 2-bedroom: the lowest entry price, with a second room for a home office, a partner or a tenant.
- 2+Study: an extra flexible room and wider appeal at resale, for a slightly higher price.
ABSD and your future
As a Singapore Citizen, your first property has no ABSD. If you later marry someone who also owns a property, plan ahead: owning two properties as a couple can trigger ABSD on future purchases. Talk to a professional before you commit.
Renting out a room
Some singles rent out the second bedroom to help with the mortgage. Check the MCST rules and minimum rental periods, and declare rental income for tax.
